What is Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program – Entrepreneur Category?

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) – Entrepreneur Stream is an economic immigration program for experienced entrepreneurs who are ready to establish, operate and actively manage a business while living and settling in Saskatchewan permanently.

A healthy business environment and strong economy together with a diverse and skilled labour market makes Saskatchewan an ideal location to start and operate a new business; or purchase, improve and operate an existing business.

Entrepreneurial Stream Eligibility of SINP – Entrepreneur Category:

For Applicant Requirements:

  • Complete and submit all required Federal and Provincial PNP forms and supporting documentation.

  • Applicants must have a minimum of three years of relevant business management or entrepreneurial experience gained in the past ten years.

  • Applicants must have a minimum $500,000 CAD in Net Business and Personal Assets.

  • At least one (1) year full time post-secondary training or apprenticeship equivalent.

  • Must be between 21-55 years of age.

  • Score minimum point in Points Assessment Grid: Minimum point will be determined at periodical draw.

  • Make at least one business trip to Saskatchewan and from an eligible connection to Saskatchewan and must submit Exploratory Visit Report.

For Business Requirements:

  • Applicants will be required to make a minimum equity investment of $300,000 CAD in Regina or Saskatoon, or a minimum equity investment of $200,000 CAD in any other Saskatchewan communities.

  • If you are invited to apply you must submit a Business Establishment Plan(BEP) that corresponds to the information in your Expression of Interest EOI. Your BEP must include:

    • Your plan to establish an eligible business that aligns with the points assigned in the Entrepreneur Category Points Grid, if applicable (for investment amount and sector);

    • Your ownership of at least one third (33 1/3 per cent) of the equity of a business in Saskatchewan, unless your total investment is $1 million CAD or higher;

    • Your commitment to provide active and on-going participation in the day-to-day management and direction of the business;

    • The creation of two employment opportunities in Saskatchewan for Canadians or permanent residents who are not related to you.

  • Obtain Work Permit and operate your business within six months of arriving in Saskatchewan, submit Business Establishment Progress Report for Nomination.
